Too Early To Say Goodbye

If I were due
to say goodbye,
I’d speak my truth
I’d tell no lie.

But since I have a while to go
Then I shall lie a little more,
Pretending that I’m ever sure
An illness I may never cure.

A confidence I don’t possess
To help me take away the stress,
To lend my act a little strength,
To go the distance
Go the length.

If I were due
to say goodbye,
I’d speak my truth
I’d tell no lie.

Till then I’ll try a little more
To lie my way through heaven’s door,
Pretending that I’m ever sure
An illness I may never cure.

Hope you liked the poem. This one’s special to me not because of any grand reasoning, emotion, or memory behind it but it’s the poem I’ve put the most effort and editing into and I think it shows. Super proud of it and hope to make something even better soon.
