We asked for higher wages
After sickness tore on through,
And you gave your reasons
And spun your tales.

All that to say you wouldn’t give
Why waste our time?

We asked for homes to live
Space to grieve
Time to heal.

We’ve heard it all
And yet again you block our calls
With broken facts
That fit the mold
Of everything that’s come before.

So why the words
So cliptly put
As if we can’t
Together put
The fact that you will never give —
Why waste our time
With promises.
